If you are looking for a different kind of self-catering holiday, why not stay in this unusual holiday home? You have a choice of two apartments in this Grade-II listed building which dates from the seventeenth century. The apartments have been restored to make a stylish holiday base for two or four people, with a period feel, and all the comforts of twenty first century living. Taken together, they will accommodate three couples or a family. They are available to rent year-round for short breaks and weekly lettings.
Situated in the quintessentially English Cotswolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Shipton Court is close to the market towns of Burford, Stowe on the Wold and Bourton on the Water, and within easy reach of historic Oxford. Blenheim Palace, Chastelton House and Snowshill Manor are a short drive away, as are Hidcote Manor Garden, Stowe Landscape Gardens and Upton House and Gardens. For a day at the races, Cheltenham’s Prestbury Park is less than thirty miles away.
Lying on the course of the Oxfordshire Way footpath, Shipton is a perfect base from which to explore an unspoilt region of England, by car, on foot or by bicycle. There is also an ample choice of nearby golf courses for more energetic visitors. Or simply relax in a chair on the lawn, and enjoy a peaceful garden that has developed the charm and style that its nineteenth century designers could only have imagined.

One of Shipton Court’s most appealing features today is its gardens: beautifully landscaped in the early 1900s but then refined by the leading garden designer James Pulham, whose other commissions included the gardens at Buckingham Palace and the Royal Horticultural Society Gardens at Wisley.
