Shipton Under Wychwood is a an idyllic village of medieval origins, centered around a traditional village green, overlooked by the 12th Century church of St Mary the Virgin. The village boasts three pubs, a general store, a florist, tennis courts and a cricket pitch – the village team is a regular winner of the National Village Knockout Champions.
The Mitford family home was in Swinbrook.
